Server Guidelines

[Bridge View RP]

Welcome to The BridgeView Roleplay.​

Characters must be unique and have distinct traits. Upon entering the city, they should be unaware of world events or the other residents. All actions must have purpose; random acts or events outside your character's story are not allowed. Interactions should primarily facilitate others’ roleplay. The expectation is to prioritize words and player-to-player interaction over forceful means such as weapons.​

• Players must adhere to Twitch.tv Terms of Service (TOS) at all times. You can view them here: https://www.twitch.tv/p/en/legal/terms-of-service/
• Toxicity or promoting toxic behavior on any platform (including Twitch, Reddit, Discord, etc.) will result in immediate removal from the community. This includes targeting, bullying, or engaging in harmful behavior. Comments that don't promote a positive, inclusive environment, such as racism, sexism, homophobia, politics, suicide, or self-harm, are strictly prohibited.
• Absolutely no sharing of another person’s private information or making threats. Do not intimidate or continuously harass players for out-of-character (OOC) reasons. Show respect—there is no valid justification for OOC bullying. Keep in mind we are all here to have fun.

Basic Interaction Rules:​

• Character names must be realistic and free from sexual or political connotations. They must also comply with the terms of service.
• Sexual, torture, or extremely gross roleplay is allowed ONLY if all parties involved have agreed to it OOC and it’s not in a public area. If you feel uncomfortable during roleplay, you have the option to stop and leave. Acts such as rape and non-consensual touching are strictly prohibited.
• Absolutely no intentional baiting of law enforcement or emergency services, stealing their vehicles, or robbing/kidnapping individuals. You may hold them up without robbing them.
• Players breaking the rules will not disrupt roleplay. If you have an issue with a player, you must submit a report in-game or on the forums. All players must remain in character unless an administrator says otherwise. Local OOC chat should only be used when absolutely necessary.
• All reports must be professional and free of toxicity. Submit reports on the forums within 48 hours of the incident.

Metagaming:​

Metagaming refers to using external information within the game to gain an unfair advantage.​

• External communications, including Discord, must be relayed in-character for roleplay.
• Absolutely no discussions outside the city should impact your actions within the city.
• Character actions should not be influenced by viewing “screenshots” or “recordings” of other players unless obtained through roleplay.
• Watching other players' live streams while engaged in roleplay scenarios is not allowed.

Powergaming:​

Powergaming is forcing players down a single path with no other options in roleplay. Examples include:​

• Robbing players at a bank and forcing them to turn over all of their money.
• Killing players who have complied with your demands.
• Forcing players into perma-death.
• Dropping unconscious players off in a location inaccessible to emergency services.

Out of Character:​

Players are never permitted to go Out of Character (OOC) while in-game.​

• NEVER BREAK CHARACTER DURING ACTIVE SCENARIOS.
• Use of voice chat in-game is strictly in-character.
• The use of /ooc chat should be minimal. General discussion is not permitted in OOC.
• Notifications of game-breaking mechanics or actions affecting roleplay are proper uses of OOC chat (e.g., character is invisible, car is bugged).

Deathmatching (RDM/VDM):​

No killing without a valid roleplay reason (deathmatching). Unnecessary provoking and terrorism are strictly forbidden.​

• Shooting, injuring, or killing another player without proper roleplay initiation.
• Using firearms or other lethal methods (e.g., vehicles) should only occur after a proper initiation involving conversation.
• There should be a recognizable reason to justify your actions.
• Initiating a physical altercation with two unarmed individuals and then using a firearm, resulting in their deaths, is not allowed.

Robbing/Scamming:​

Robbing is taking someone’s possessions (money/items, etc.) by force or threat of force. Scamming is offering a good or service and then refusing to pay or provide it. Robberies and scams must be strictly in-character.​

• Always ensure you have a valid reason for robbing someone based on character knowledge. Simply seeing them outside a large house is not enough. There will be consequences for poor escalation.
• Players should not attempt to force others to withdraw money from an ATM. Don’t use script commands to coerce others into selling vehicles during a robbery, and don’t pressure others into handing over assets that aren’t present.
• Absolutely no killing during a robbery unless provoked. Only instruct a player to “put their hands up” or “don’t move” if you’re planning to rob them, not if you intend to kill them.
• No player is allowed to scam for more than $20,000. They can rob all the cash you are carrying, so avoid carrying over $20,000 unless you’re willing to lose it.
• Players may not commit a robbery while driving a luxury, high-end, or sports car.
• Looting dead players is forbidden.
• You may not rob a player while they’re performing a scripted job.
• Robbing or scamming is prohibited inside a greenzone.
• Using out-of-character knowledge (e.g., knowing who has a weapon or where someone lives) is forbidden and punishable by a ban for metagaming.

New Life Rule:​

When your character is downed and respawns at the hospital, they must forget the immediate events leading up to being downed. Under no circumstances are you allowed to return to the area of your death for at least 15 minutes or attempt to retrieve lost possessions from other involved players. Furthermore, if your character is killed, you are prohibited from creating a new character and seeking revenge for your deceased character. Additionally, if you’re advised that police or EMS is on the way to your scene, you may not respawn. Try to contact medical help while incapacitated.​

Third-Party Modifications:​

• Using any type of game modification or software that gives you an advantage over other players is strictly prohibited.
• Client-side modifications that alter the game’s function are not allowed. Aesthetic changes are acceptable, but not functional ones.
• Third-person field of view (FOV) modifications are forbidden. First-person FOV mods are allowed.
• The following modifications are not permitted: mods, trainers, crosshairs, tracers, flawless widescreen (third-person POV), and unlimited stamina.

Abuse of Game Physics:​

Grand Theft Auto V’s physics are hardcoded, and any attempt to alter them is prohibited. This includes:​

• Bunnyhopping (jumping while running to gain speed).
• Spam punching (repeatedly clicking to avoid a response).
• Combat rolling (rolling in a shootout).
• Olympic swimming (swimming without roleplaying exhaustion).
• Abusing jobs (e.g., using a job vehicle to evade police).
• Exploiting emote cancellations to avoid falling or spam punching.

Safezones:​

A safezone is an area where players may not commit crimes. If a player flees to a safezone, the roleplay may continue. Safezone Locations include:​

• City Hall, government offices, law enforcement offices, hospitals, car dealerships, banks, DMV, country club.
• Los Angeles International Airport.
• Parking garages, impound lots.
• Clothing stores, tattoo shops, barber shops (inside only).
• Player-owned businesses (sidewalks and parking lots connected to businesses are also green zones, but only when the business is open).
• Server events (except block parties and house parties).
• Movie theatres, bowling alleys (inside only).
• The Diamond Casino (including the parking lot).
• Gym (inside only).

Common Courtesy:​

Let’s remember to treat others with respect and uphold the rules with integrity. We should all strive to maintain a positive and fulfilling roleplay experience.

• Combat logging (quitting the game to avoid roleplay) will result in a ban.
• Avoiding roleplay.
• Roleplay your injuries.
• No asset transferring.
• Disregarding administrators.
• Remember: Roleplay without proper buildup or a valid reason for an attack can result in punishment.
  If you discover a bug or exploit, you must report it. Any attempt to exploit it will lead to a permanent ban. You must also report any individuals breaking this rule.
